I was born and raised right here in Buffalo (1957) and come from an honest, earnest working-class background. Modest means make you keen on recycling and reusing, and after much drifting - including stints working on church pipe organs and floral delivery - I incorporated these recycling instincts into a blossoming interest in art, specifically collage.
I like the idea of re-assembling disparate images, out of context, into brand-new worlds of imagination. After an initial interest in surrealism, I've since used elements of abstraction and even pop art in my constructions. Most of my source material is culled from '50s and '60s LIFE Magazines, and my themes range from loneliness to mindful meditation, whimsy to equality, alienation to my love for music.
